Rust represents deterioration, the passage of time, aging. The redox reaction of iron and oxygen in the presence of water or air humidity causes the oxidation process.

 

This process ends with the most familiar form of rust: the reddish coating that forms scales in iron and steel, with less common ones such as yellow, brown, orange or even green.

 

In this case, I found my opportunity to photograph this admirable hull of a ship in a remote area of ​​Iceland. Stranded and abandoned return to be part of the environment after years of tireless struggle against the inclemency of the sea.

 

For this project, instead of focusing on the whole, I spotlit on the details, with a whimsical-patinas of different colors and shapes.
